Mrs. Carson County 2010

Michelle Baumgardner

How do your personal or unique qualities best fit the international system?

The International system celebrates excellence in one’s self, family, and community. I have the unique ability to assess one’s spiritual or emotional wellness while assessing one’s physical wellness. Consequently, I dedicate time to developing excellence in these areas while actively encouraging others to join me on my journey.

What is something few people know about you?

I began my undergraduate studies as a biology major to teach school and coach basketball. However, I ultimately recognized the greater need for social wellness, changed my major to social work, and ultimately become the counseling personal trainer and gym owner that I am today.

What do you do to stay healthy?

I believe that a pure mind helps to develop a sound body. As a result, I spend time developing my walk with God, developing my relationship with others, and studying selected social disorders. This is in addition to teaching classes and exercising five days a week.

Everyone talks about family values. What are they?

Our family values are faith, hope and love. Faith in God, each other and ourselves; hope in our futures and heaven; love for God and mankind. These values might be more readily recognized to others as integrity, continuous improvement and caring.

What is your worst habit? Why?

I often tempted to overextend myself in giving my time to family and others, while limiting necessary time for my personal wellness. As a result, I find I have to be very disciplined to balance my time in a healthy way.
